These two posters were designed for Frannie Peabody Center to be hung around the city during a First Friday Art Walk and to serve as a tool to raise awareness about AIDS problem in Portland.
Redefining AIDS
The idea behind Redefining AIDS poster was to change the perception of the general public about people with AIDS. I am redefining AIDS by crossing out the words, associated with these people, and changing them to what they should be, just as bright, and strong as are the people who have AIDS. The colors make the poster positive, which corresponds to the nature of art events happening around Portland during the First Friday Art Walk.
Speech bubble
The second poster depicts a simple message addressed to everyone. It conveys that AIDS is still a problem in Portland and that not talking about it does not make the problem go away. This poster had been picked to be used on social media to raise awareness and support Frannie Peabody’s mission.
